The activities of RCE are guided by Mr. S. D. Baveja, who retired from the Survey
of India as National Project Director for Modern Cartographic Centre (UNDP Project)
and Digital Mapping Centre, over 38 years of service. Besides direct involvement
in Geodesy, Survey & Digital Mapping Projects, Digital Cartography, analytical photogrammetry,
he held teaching assigments at IIT, Kanpur and did Post Graduate level course in
computational of Geodesy (Geomatics) at Imperial college of science and Tech. London
(U.K.). He has worked in several countries of Africa, Asia and handled projects
in Europe besides USA. He has worked as a Consultant for the United Nations and
for the Overseas Development Administration, U. K.
